ClinicianX has developed its onboarding criteria based on existing Occupational Therapy governing documents that outline the mandates and expectations for supervision of Occupational Therapists in Australia. These documents include:

• Professional Supervision Framework 2019.
• Supervision Guidelines for Occupational Therapy - August 2014.
• Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, Code of Conduct, 2014.
• Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, Australian Occupational Therapy Competency Standards 2018.

Occupational therapists must be registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and meet the Board's registration standards to practice in Australia.

As an independent service provider, it's crucial to have an ABN. You can acquire an ABN via the Australian Business Register. It's a free process, takes less than 30 minutes to apply, and the application is typically processed within 1 business day.

Providers should have Public Liability Insurance (PLI) and Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) coverage of up to AUD $20 million. Please check within your current policy whether supervision services is included. ClinicianX is not liable for any advice provided through the matches made on this platform.

Minimum 5 years of clinical experience as a registered Occupational Therapist.

All supervisors to have supervision contracts and agreements in place.

Provide detail of sufficient supervision experience. Must have a minimum of 2 years supervision experience or have completed additional training and education relating to providing supervision.

• Theoretical models of supervision, as a foundation for process, content, and evaluation
• Communication – including questioning techniques, active listening, giving positive and constructive feedback rather than accolades or criticism, having difficult conversations and being assertive.
• Conflict management
• Skills in reflection
• Professional reasoning, and integration of professional theories and evidence into the normative and formative components of supervision (See ‘Models of Supervision’)
• Multicultural competent supervision
• Tele-supervision (use of technology; ethical and legal issues)
• Evaluation of supervision.

The foundation for professional supervision is a collaborative and professional relationship based on trust, safety, and rapport. All parties involved should be aware of the inherent professional values, as stipulated in the Code of Conduct (2014) and Code of Ethics (2014), which underpin such relationship.

Our messaging and booking features facilitate all pre-match enquiries, including follow up questions and scheduling the first 15 minute discovery meeting.

ClinicianX allows supervisors to display personal booking links to seamlessly integrate appointments with their existing practice management and scheduling systems.

Please note that all appointments are conducted outside of the ClinicianX platform. Currently, ClinicianX serves solely as a matching service, but we are exploring the addition of more features as we continue to develop.

All supervision contracts and payments will be agreed directly with your chosen supervisor, externally to the platform. We are working on streamlining this process for clinicians who would like to schedule and complete secure payments within the platform.

At ClinicianX, we recognise that the effectiveness of supervision heavily depends on the quality of the supervisory relationship and the compatibility between the supervisor and supervisee (Martin et al., 2014; Martin et al., 2015; Ducat et al., 2015; Wetchler et al., 2007).

Features such as our in-depth search filters, introductory videos, messaging functions, free discovery calls, and detailed profiles enhance the matching process by allowing for pre-match enquiries. These elements help increase the chances of a good match, which is a key factor in achieving a positive and supportive supervision experience.

To protect client privacy and ensure compliance with data protection regulations, please be advised that no sensitive or personally identifiable client information should be shared via the messaging feature on the ClinicianX platform.

The messaging system is not designed for the transmission of confidential client details. For all client-related communications, please use secure and appropriate channels in accordance with your professional and organisational privacy policies.

ClinicianX is actively working towards enabling secure methods for such communications in the future.
